Choices

We all have choices.  How you live your life is based on the choices you make.  Do you realize that your reactions to things are a choice? When someone irritates you, do you yell at them?  You have a choice: either you yell at them or you explain what’s bothering you and you move on.  If you react angrily, you’re letting them get the best of you.  If you remain calm and explain things, you actually have the upper hand.  One example:  I walk in to the house and the dog is all over me.  I am carrying groceries and get irritated with the dog immediately.  My choices are:  yell at the dog and make him scurry across the house and then being upset that I yelled at him, he won’t listen.  Or, I could take a deep breath, set down my stuff and bring the dog outside where he won’t be in the way anymore.
